The centre is a pivotal player, focusing on electricity research as the cornerstone of a sustainable future.

What we do

The Energy Centre contributes to New Zealand’s clean energy and energy-efficiency goals by:

  • Facilitating informed dialogue on pressing energy issues by offering the University of Auckland Business School as a trusted, neutral platform for engagement between policymakers, researchers, and industry experts.
  • Conducting rigorous research and policy analysis on energy-related challenges that are critical to New Zealand’s future.
  • Sharing insights and recommendations with government agencies—both local and central—as well as with industry stakeholders and academic communities.
  • Delivering energy-focused education that prepares future leaders for roles in government, business, and academia.

Our sincere gratitude goes to our funder and supporter, the Energy Education Trust of New Zealand, who enables the centre to fulfil various programmes and projects
